Research Interests

As a neuropsychologist, I have always been interested in knowing how the brain allows us to be so efficient and adapted in our everyday life, what happens when it dysfunctions and why. Since my first internship in a department of neurology where I took part to a research project investigating the anterior temporal lobes’ role in face recognition through epileptic patients undergoing epilepsy surgery, I’ve been willing to go further and find out a way to be more accurate in detecting and diagnosing visual disorders, especially face recognition disorders. My aim is to use FVPS and scalp EEG recordings to investigate visual recognition (faces, words, objects…) in temporal lobe epileptic patients. The expected outcomes are:

- to improve our understanding of the neural basis of visual recognition

- to clinically validate a new physiological biomarker to better assess clinical disorders and to accurately predict post operative neuropsychological outcome in visual recognition
