Research Interests

I am a PhD student at the University of South Australia under the supervision of Dr. Hannah Keage. I am visiting the Face Categorization Lab in 2015-2016 to learn more about the Fast Periodic Visual Stimulation technique and SSVEP methodology.

I am interested in how our visual systems are influenced by what we have recently seen, and what we expect to see in the future. My research focuses on how repeated exposure to the same face or object can alter the response properties of neurons that encode these stimuli (known as stimulus-specific adaptation or repetition suppression). I am also investigating the automatic predictions that we make about our visual environment, and how these predictions are expressed in electrophysiological recordings such as EEG. To research these topics I use event-related potentials (ERPs), steady state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPS), time-frequency analyses and multivariate pattern classification approaches.
